NET ZERO GOAL

Many years have passed since we started to think about our model of sustainable business. Actually, in order to locate the origin of our first ecological action, we shall go back in time at least 40 years, when Mariuccia and Sergio Alzani decided to plant a small forest around the company.

Today, being more conscious about our social responsibility, we are facing a transition towards a green future, developing an energetic strategy that could be coherent with the purposes of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which should lead Imbalplast towards Net Zero goal.

We have already made many sustainable choices, first of all the installation of a photovoltaic plant with 1920 solar panels on a surface of 3500 square metres – with a total power of 800 kW. It is an investment that allows us to produce more than 900.000 kWh per year, by reducing of 450.000 kilos our CO2 emissions in the atmosphere.

However, in order to understand the real entity of our remaining emissions, we have charged the University of Parma with the task of monitoring them; in the end, they will produce a certified report, which will help us to orient our future choices in a correct and sustainable way.

In addition, two years ago, the University of Parma also carried out an analytical study about the environmental impact of our packaging products.

In the meantime, the collection of emission data has almost ended; in a few weeks, we shall receive the results, which will be published as soon as possible.
